7/19/07 - Covent Gardens to Bankside - bump foot part 3

Behind the Savoy in one of those famous little hidden streets we come upon the Queens Chapel at Savoy. I can’t remember how old it is but it’s old. lol

Up Wellington we see a little cafe by the name of Charles Dickens Coffee House, apparently this is where he started one of his magazines.

Down Catherine where Drury Lane Theater is located at. Which has “Lord of the Rings” on stage now. Actually Drury Lane is a street over.

And that was my final picture of the day, I forgot to clear out my memory call and download my pics the night before so my memory was full in my camera, darn it! And we had 2 more hours to go (ugh).

From this point on he was determine to fun us ragged it seemed. We went by the Australia House, which is suppose to be “Gringotts Bank” for Harry Potter, it wasn’t crooked. Then he took us quickly to the Temple Church, which was pretty cool, also featured in “The De Vinci Code”. On to Blackfriers pub which was apparently the site where they held the try to determine if Henry the VIII would get his divorce from Catherine of Aragon.

Then we went across the Millennium Bridge at a run past the new Shakespeare Globe on to the site of the original Shakespeare Globe and the Rose. Past the Clink Prison we finally ended up at the Borough Market (yummy stuff on display) and right out side there is a place called the Globe (pub) and this is the site of where Bridge Jones lives and Mr. Darcy and Daniel Cleaver have their famous fight. :) lol Now I just want to see the movie.

So the five hour walk/run fest ended. We grabbed some yummy food from the market and I headed for my other class, meeting at the National History Museum way across town. Unfortunately I didn’t make it. During our walk, we walked across more cobblestone roads than usual, and I’m very careful when I step because I’ve been know to re-sprain my ankles (yes ankles, I’ve sprained both of them before). Well during one of the steps I stepped wrong and felt a slight twinge but didn’t think about it because it didn’t hurt at all. Well, once I was able to sit for a moment on the tube on the way to class and tried to get up to get off the tube that’s when I notice, it hurt like a mother! Sharp pain up and down my leg and calf, there was no way I was going to be able to stand around for two hours. So I head home, hobbling back to my flat and put some ice on it. Ugh!

It’s helped but I think I’ll have to ice my ankle for a while until it gets better. I got home did that and took a nap.. then just hung out. Tomorrow is friday!!! No class, nothing planned to do but get my ticket to Orlando Blooms play, yeah!, and pick up Harry Potter at midnight!!! Double yeah!

Then saturday it’s the trip to Oxford and Stratford. My ankle better be better by then.

Until tomorrow.

Ahhh...we went to Temple Church too. I had to pee like, well, I don't know what like, but really bad and couldn't find a stupid public restroom for what seemed like hours. We finally found one and then we could enjoy the church! lol

Sorry about your foot! At least Orlando was all pretty for you!
