7/19/07 - Covent Gardens to Bankside - bump foot part 2

From there we finally make it to Covent Gardens. We don’t go end he just talks about the history of the area and how capitalism came into play, and housing and such.

Another picture:

5. One street up from Covent Gardens: A bridge between two buildings, I just thought this was interesting.

6. Covent Gardens, one of the entrances. I’ll be going back since we didn’t have time to explore

7. In from of Covent Gardens , the backside of St. George’s church is. This is the church yard in the front, so pretty. St. George’s church commemorates actors (since we are basically in the theater district) and inside are many plaques doing this.

8. Vivian Leigh’s plaque in St. George.

From here we make our way up Strand and to The Savoy. It looks smaller than from what it does in “Notting Hill”.

9. Savoy

No Hugh Grant or Julia Roberts this time, but the Savoy theater (right next door) is showing “Fiddler on the Roof”.
