7/13/07 - Greenwich - View from the top

Pictures 14-16

and the tour was over.. we spent the rest of the afternoon at the market just looking around, then we hit the a local pub where I had bangers and mash.. yum! and then went back to the Maritime Museum. Lots of nautical and replicas of boats along with figure heads of boats.. it was interesting. then we where off to the Queen's House to tour but we arrived to late and by that time we where all ready for a nap to we took the DRL (not the tube exactly but the railway) back to London (which also took us under the Thames - yikes!) and then went home.

We got home about 6 and then decided to go take a chance and see if we could get into Harry Potter (it had been sold out the past couple of nights). We were in luck, the theater in Hampstead wasn't sold out and we got student discounts (6 pounds still 12 american dollars when you convert - ouch!). They had a full 30 minutes of commercials and all the trailers where of american movies.. which we thought was funny...

but the movie??? OMG!

First off..the Order of the Phonenix is my all time favorite of all the books so far.. love it!! And I loved the movie!!! I so wanted to re-watch it as soon as it was over! I might just have to wait until I get home since it's so freaking expensive here.. but - yeah wow!

And it was so weird watching it here! In London! I kept on thinking.. I've been there.. the tube scene.. I take the tube every day and like Mr. Weasley I was confused too! lol But I use the handy dandy oyster cards (it's what they slap against the yellow buttons Mr. Weasley kept laying his hands on lol) to get into the tube. And the flying scene.. I was just there.. today!!! It's just weird!

So yeah.. fun times on this my first Friday in London. :)

And tomorrow another first .. a visit to Notting Hill - Yeah!

The Harry Potter movie is so awesome...so much better than 4, but still not my favorite. Nothing can beat 3 in my opinion. The fight scene at the end was in 3-D at the IMAX...totally cool.

Notting Hill! Be prepared to walk, and walk, and walk if you go to the market thing. I was so hot and grumpy...we totally just left after about 2 hours! It's really cool though and we saw some of our most interesting characters there...seemed to be full of "punk" or "alternative" sort of people! That's where I got your random London shirt! You're getting to see so much!! I want to go back.
